Nominated for a 2011 Women in Business Award from the Orange County Business Journal, Stasha Surdyke is the President and co-owner of Table for Two Productions, a Costa Mesa-based company that produces theatrical and culinary fundraising events for arts organizations.
Initially studying journalism and music at University of Maryland, Stasha left academia to pursue a career in the yachting industry, traveling around the globe working as a chef on the most elite charter and private yachts. During her successful culinary career, Stasha became the personal chef to one of the most esteemed businessmen in the world and Forbes top-ranked billionaire.
After reaching the pinnacle of her culinary career, Stasha shifted gears and auditioned for the University of Washington ’s School of Drama, where she was one of eighteen students accepted into the school’s prestigious two-year Suzuki program. She received her BA in Drama and a minor in Communications from UW.
During her studies, Stasha frequently sang at local jazz venues and appeared in several productions at the renowned Seattle Playhouse and Penthouse theatres. Simultaneously, she honed her PR and marketing skills at Passage Records, where she promoted local Seattle jazz musicians on a national level.
Stasha moved to Los Angeles to pursue her music and acting career. She has appeared in numerous commercials, films, television shows and theatrical productions throughout Southern California, including Freud Playhouse, Laguna Playhouse, Pico Playhouse, Edgemar Center for the Arts, Theatre 40, Lewis Family Playhouse, Sierra Madre Repertory, Lankershim Arts Center, The Kodak, The Met, Egyptian, Odyssey, Skylight Theatre, and The Globe. Stasha is a proud member of Actor’s Equity and SAG/AFTRA.
In addition to her acting career, Stasha works with the boutique PR agency, ArtsPR, overseeing media relations and other creative services for new and existing arts clients in the greater Los Angeles area. Stasha designed the award-winning press kit for Laguna Playhouse’s production of The Second City: Can You Be More Pacific? which won the 2011 PROTOS Award.
Currently the writer and editor of Coastal Food and Wine, Stasha also co-writes the popular dining column Table For Two in the Newport Beach Independent, as well as creates and hosts video content for the Laguna Beach Foodies dining website. Stasha is a member of the Southern California Restaurant Writers Association, the Orange County Press Club, and the Noël Coward Society.
Despite her busy career, Stasha finds time to give back to the community. She works with Coachart Organization, mentoring chronically ill children in the area of performing arts. An advocate for Breast Cancer awareness, Stasha served for several years on the committee for Expedition Inspiration: The Hike For the Cure, the sister organization to Susan G. Komen’s Race For the Cure. She often donates her time, culinary expertise and service to various fundraisers, and regularly volunteers for non-profit groups benefiting children and arts education.
